Search Engine Optimisation – Its a Bit Like Adwords

If you would like to know more about search engine optimisation please visit http://www.seowizz.net/

There are many SEO blogs out there all trying their best to describe various search engine optimisation techniques. The truth is most of SEO is not that difficult at all, Google is looking for a certain way for pages to be optimised and they dont exactly keep the rules a secret. Google actually want SEO to work, it helps them better define what it is searchers are looking for, for example if a site makes it to the top of Google but is not really relevant, Google can tweak their algorithm so sites similar to this one will not rank so high.

If you have ever carried out an adwords campaign before you will know there are certain tactics that can be used in order to push your quality score up and you cost per click down. These tactics help your site and ad look more relevant to the searcher. Some of the very basic tactics are to put your target keyword in the ad title, maybe use it once in the body and again if possible in the url, these keywords will then be bold when the ad displays.

So why should we treat on page optimisation of our web pages any different? The most important part of on page optimisation is ensuring our title tags are optimised correctly, prominently displaying your target keywords. Again optimising headings and our page urls will also give us a relevancy boost just like it does with an adwords ad.

You see the organic index is just like a giant ad list, they are pretty much displayed the same as the adword ads as well, so why wouldnt Google take into account similar factors? It has been said for a long time that META data is not being used in the Google algorithm, however your META description is used when indexing your site, surely the use of keywords in it makes your listing more relevant to the user and naturally increases the rank.

Many think of search engine optimisation as a bit of mystery and stick to creating great content without thinking about what searchers might be putting into Google to find their content, this is never going to yield effective results. Google works with words and the meaning of them words are only defined by searchers and webmasters, for instance, if there are an abundance of searchers for jam jar, webmasters will optimise their sites accordingly for that keyword, the content on the websites gives the keyword jam jar a meaning. The meaning could be in a literal sense or it could be a brand name. It is important that you do not get dragged into this great content state of mind without considering SEO, Google is a computer and the most relevant content wins period.
