Oops! Egypt Learns Why Killing All Its Pigs Was a Dumb Idea

And you’re going to learn what a dumb idea putting all your offers onto one page is, in this short article, too. Egypt thought that by killing all its pigs, it could prevent swine flu. Bad idea, and so is putting all of your offers onto one page. In both cases, the actions just won’t work! In the case of Internet marketing, it has to do with analysis paralysis. Let’s discuss that a little further.
People come online hoping to make millions of dollars overnight. Let it be known… That won’t happen. And they come online thinking that they don’t need to make any investment. That won’t happen either. But that’s what all these “get rich quick” programs tell them, anyway. Eventually, after maybe months of trying, they begin to see that not spending any money won’t make them any money, either.
So then, it seems logical that to spend the least money with the least amount of effort, right? I mean, they hear all this crap about “passive income.” It really doesn’t work that way, but with those ideas in mind, they’ll just throw everything they’re an affiliate for up on one page. And it will most likely be a page that doesn’t look very nice because they haven’t studied. They haven’t looked at successful companies’ squeeze or sales pages to see what they should model.
You’ve seen those pages, right? Or, maybe you have one of your own. There are flashing banners, lots of text links, and maybe even an optin box on a colored frame with a contrasting colored background. Bad idea! When you put all your affiliate marketing projects onto one page and it doesn’t look businesslike, guess what people will do?
Nothing.
They’re going to be confused. They won’t know what your page is about. And like a car shopper goes into a used car lot expecting to be ripped off, your page just scares them. It does nothing to increase their trust in you, and you know what happens when people don’t trust you… they won’t buy from you.
But putting the trust issue aside, their confusion stems from their not knowing what to do. Inevitably, it will cause them to do nothing. They’ll bounce off the page faster than water off a hot griddle. They won’t even take the time to see what you’re offering.
The right way to do things is to set up each Web page so that your potential customer has only one option. Either they optin or they leave from your squeeze page. On your sales page, they buy only one product that your copy convinces them to buy or they leave. That’s it! If you make it more complicated than that, you won’t make any sales and you won’t make any money.
