In the April, the pig iron was exported to Taiwan Province, Japan, USA, Vietnam, Malaysia and South Korea from Jilin, Jiangsu, Henan, and Shandong Province. 37,882.157 tons were exported to Taiwan Province, 27,051.590 tons were exported to Japan, 65,490 tons were exported to the U.S., 10,392 tons were exported to Vietnam, 44 tons were exported to Malaysia and 46,435.150 tons were exported to South Korea. Among them, Jiangsu exported 12,174 tons, Henan exported 1,047.157 tons, Jilin exported 1,670.150 tons, and Shandong exported 172,403.590 tons.
According to the data, in the April of 2011, the country imported 41,048.704 tons of pig iron, a decrease of 19553.151 tons compared with 60,601.855 tons in March. In the April, the pig iron was imported from Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Japan and north Korea. 66 tons were imported from Canada, 3300 tons were imported from South Africa, 25654 tons were imported from Brazil, 40.054 tons were imported from Japan, and 11,988.650 tons were imported from north Korea. Among them, Jilin imported 11,736.820 tons, Guangdong imported 66 tons, Jiangsu imported 34,946.500 tons, and Fujian imported 0.054 tons.
To sum up, the late movement of prices of steel and raw material and the limited power will determine the price trend of pig iron. On the current market situation, the current pig iron market is still in a stalemate and dilemma.
