2. Rely only on social media like Twitter and Facebook. Although it is important to include social media as part of your overall link building plan, you should not rely only on them. 3. Assume your website will rank well automatically after some time. This is the biggest misconception when it comes to SEO. Although domain age plays an important role when it comes to SEO, it is not the only factor that determines the rankings of your site. Many webmasters still believe that search engines such as Google will rank their sites higher over time naturally. This is simply not the truth. Some optimizers tweak their pages too soon. When you are impatient and change things too often, your pages will dance around the listings and you will never know your true rankings.
